Bishop’s Stortford Town Council is inviting young people across the town to help shape the future identity of Bishop’s Stortford through a new Logo & Tagline Design Competition launching in March 2026.
The competition will give primary school pupils, secondary school students, and college students attending schools or colleges within Bishop’s Stortford the opportunity to create a new official logo and tagline for the Town Council.
The winning design will replace the current “Historic Market Town” branding with a refreshed identity that reflects Bishop’s Stortford today — celebrating its heritage, strong community spirit, green spaces, and forward-looking ambitions.
The initiative aims to encourage creativity, civic pride, and community engagement among young residents while giving one talented designer the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on the town’s identity.
Participants are invited to submit an original logo design alongside a new tagline. Designs may be hand-drawn, computer-generated, or a combination of both, and could incorporate local landmarks, the River Stort, parks and green spaces, or abstract representations of the town’s character.
Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, relevance to Bishop’s Stortford’s identity, the strength of the proposed tagline, and suitability for use across a wide range of official council materials.
The winning entrant will receive a £250 Discover Stortford Gift Card, formal recognition from the Town Council, and promotion through local media and community channels.
Councillors hope the competition will provide a platform for young people to contribute directly to the town’s future visual identity while celebrating what makes Bishop’s Stortford unique.
The competition officially launches on 6th March 2026, with entries required to be submitted by email no later than 30th September 2026 at 5pm. Judging will take place in October 2026, with the winner announced later that month.
All entries must be submitted to:
